Jeroen Rijpkema nominated as Chief Executive Officer Triodos Bank

The Supervisory Board of Triodos Bank N.V. intends to appoint Jeroen Rijpkema (1960) as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Supervisory Board will notify the General Meeting of this intended appointment. The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) will take place on 21 May 2021. The appointment will take effect immediately after the AGM.

The Dutch Central Bank has approved the proposed appointment of Jeroen Rijpkema. The Works Council of Triodos Bank has given a positive advice regarding the intended appointment.

The appointment will in principle be for a period of two years, giving the Supervisory Board an appropriate period of time to decide upon the longer-term leadership of Triodos Bank.

After this appointment the Executive Board of Triodos Bank will consist of Jeroen Rijpkema (CEO and Chair), André Haag (CFO) and Carla van der Weerdt (CRO). The Supervisory Board is well under way with the recruitment process for both the COO and the CCO roles, as announced on 9 February 2021.

Aart de Geus, Chair of the Supervisory Board: “The Supervisory Board is very pleased with the nomination of Jeroen Rijpkema. Jeroen has demonstrated a strong affinity with the agenda Triodos Bank pursues and he is fully committed to driving that agenda forward. In this phase in the development of Triodos Bank, he is the right person to lead our organisation together with his colleagues in the Executive Board.”

Peter Blom, CEO and Chair of the Executive Board, about his successor: “Jeroen Rijpkema will not only bring extensive banking knowledge and experience but also enthusiasm and commitment for what we stand for. I wish him every success at Triodos Bank.”
