VBDO is pleased to invite you to an upcoming webinar on physical climate risks and restricted areas in mineral supply chains, taking place on Monday 11 May at 14:00 CEST.

As the energy transition accelerates, mineral mining supply chains are increasingly exposed to physical climate risks, as well as growing scrutiny on environmental and social impacts such as deforestation and biodiversity loss. For investors, understanding where risks materialise, and where activities should not take place at all, is becoming ever more important.

During this session, we will bring together two expert perspectives:

Rainforest Foundation Norway

Rainforest Foundation Norway will present its upcoming “Restricted Areas Off-Limits” policy brief and global mapping tool. This work identifies areas on land and at sea that should be considered off-limits to mining under any circumstances.

The session will introduce an indicative global map designed to help investors and industry actors identify restricted areas, assess exposure to high-risk locations, and better understand where mining pressures may occur and where urgent intervention is needed.

TMP

TMP will provide an overview of how physical climate risks are affecting critical mineral assets and supply chains, and why these risks are becoming increasingly financially material.

Drawing on high-resolution climate data and case studies from key producing regions, TMP will demonstrate how risks such as flooding, heat and water stress interact with operational challenges, environmental impacts and social dynamics. The session will also highlight how investors can better integrate these risks into decision-making and identify opportunities to mitigate them.

We hope this session will provide valuable insights into how investors can better navigate the intersection of climate risks, supply chain resilience, and responsible sourcing.
