It isn’t, in reality, quite the case; the book pays little attention to the earlier days of the SRI industry, which culminated with the shareowner action that is widely considered to have been a major turning point in ending apartheid in South Africa and in the formation of the Global Sullivan Principles of Social Responsibility.
